Greer Amps Mori Drive

Greer Amps Mori Drive is an overdrive pedal with a mid-hump, based on that classic, beloved green vintage overdrive standard from Japan.

For years, Greer has been asked to build a drive based on that old vintage standby that so many love with the famous “mid hump”…they have finally landed on a set of tweaks with this type of circuit that they believe fits with the other drives in our line, and makes all of our test amps sing.

Available to Greer Amps artists only for a while, what is now known as Mori Drive is inspired by vintage TS circuitry, tuned between TS and K-style frequency ranges. The circuit uses a JRC4558 chip. The have built a ton of TS type circuits for folks over the years and this one is the one that they think is the “Greer signature” type sound and feel for that circuit.

The mid hump on the drive is positioned in a sonically pleasing area, and there is more output volume available when compared to a standard TS type circuit. Clipping is also tweaked, to achieve a smoother tone that blends so very well with a pushed amp, and stacks amazingly with your other drives. They have stacked this pedal with every single drive circuit that we have built, and with many other companies’ drives, and they have yet to find a bad combination.

Combine it on your pedalboard with, for example, a Lightspeed and a Southland, and you gain access to an unmatched richness of texture, tone, and playing feel. The pedal is built using top-quality components, features True Bypass, and is powered by a standard 9 to 18-volts power supply (sold separately).
