Electronic Audio Experiments Greathammer is a powerful, bass-focused overdrive with the character of massive 1970s solid-state amplifiers. With an enormous 50 dB gain range, it moves effortlessly from tight and articulate to raw and uncompromising.
Inspired by classic Canadian bass amps but completely redesigned, the pedal delivers deep, full low end without the artificial feel of a clean blend. It retains the fast, piano-like attack of ’90s noise rock while offering enough nuance for subtle playing or brutally down-tuned riffs.
The Level control sets the output volume with massive headroom, while Gain takes the signal from clean to heavy overdrive. Bass adds up to +14 dB of low-end boost after clipping for a solid foundation. Attack shapes clarity and pick response above 1 kHz, and the Notch switch lets you choose between flat mids, a gentle mid cut, or a deep mid scoop for extra punch.
Use it in front of your amplifier or as a standalone preamp. Designed with bass in mind, but surprisingly effective on guitar as well. and an an ideal choice for players who want deep, powerful tone with character, punch, and control. The pedal is powered by a standard 9 volts power supply (not included).
