Benson 424 MKII preamp is inspired by the raw, gritty distortion texture and wide EQ control of a classic 4-track cassette recorder preamp.

We’ve expanded the versatility of this circuit by adding a bypassable buffer that dramatically alters the pedal’s gain and character. This allows the pedal to work well with high-impedance guitar signals, allowing it to handle a variety of sounds: clean boosting with subtle EQ, a treble boost, warm and dark textures, and a chaotic grind. Bypass the buffer and hear a faithful reproduction of an electric guitar sound plugged directly into the original.

The pedal features treble and bass controls for coloring the signal to your liking. There’s also a fader knob for adjusting the volume. The trim knob controls the signal gain. The pedal is powered by a standard 9V power supply (not included).
