Benson Germanium Preamp

Benson Germanium Preamp Pedal is based on the now famous amp-in-a-box Preamp Pedal from Benson with one important tweak: the replace- ment of the first FET transistor with a germanium gain stage. The result is an alternate universe take on this  flagship preamp pedal that marries the incomparable feel of germanium with the careful equalization and tone controls of the preamp pedal.

The result is a slightly lower gain, but richer sounding and feeling overdrive/boost/fuzz/whatever we really, really dig. The pedal adds thickness to your tone and it will give you a smooth Bluesy drive sound without going to (heavy) metal territory. It adds a gritty overdrive/distortion without losing the sound and character of your guitar.

You can use the on-board EQ to colour the sound as you like. Add a little treble or sparkle to your tone or boost the lows for a fatter tone. You can use the knobs to switch between a American style drive with scooped mids to a mid-heavy Brit tone.
