Vemuram Jan Ray

Vemuram Jan Ray is a transparant overdrive pedal that keeps the character of your guitar signal and your playing dynamics intact. There is not much compression here and the sound is not coloured as much as a TubeScreamer would. It does push the preamp of your tube amp however in sweet territories of almost break-up and sustain heaven.

The Jan Ray was designed to recreate the punchy clear tone of the Blackface Fender amps from the 60’s. So-called the “Fender Magic 6” sound. An easy to handle overdrive keeping the characteristics of the guitar, with great sustain without any unnatural compression.

Some say it is the best transparent overdrive on the market today. It does not add much mid-range as other drives do so often. The pedal is designed to be an enhancer and it brings out the best in the guitar/amp combination that you use.

The layout is simple and very easy to use. There is a small saturation trim knob on the side which adjusts, well the saturation. You can take this overdrive from mild to fat and saturated, staying away from la la distortion-land.
