The EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) HalfLife is a compact yet incredibly powerful octave distortion + booster, developed in collaboration with the legendary drone metal band Sunn O))). This pedalboard-friendly version of the iconic Life Pedal delivers the same massive tones and aggressive character in a smaller, more practical format.

The HalfLife combines a heavy distortion, an analog octave-up, and an independent booster in a single pedal. The distortion circuit is based on the classic “White Face” design and features three different clipping modes, ranging from open and raw OpAmp drive to warm asymmetrical crunch and the familiar classic silicon clipping. This makes the pedal equally suited for crushing doom and sludge riffs, fuzz-soaked leads, and experimental soundscapes.

The fully analog octave-up adds extra harmonics, chaos, and sustain to your tone, effortlessly transforming the HalfLife from a powerful distortion into a raging fuzz machine. Thanks to the independent footswitches, the distortion/octave and booster sections can be used separately, while the built-in Flexi-Switch® technology allows both momentary and standard true bypass operation.
