Filter pedal

Filter pedal
If you want to emphasize certain frequency areas, take a look at a filter. So it is actually a subcategory of an equalizer. This can be a fixed frequency range as well as a variable range. With some pedals, this area depends on how you strike. In the latter case we are talking about an envelope filter pedal.

Different variants
In addition to envelope pedals, there are also pedals that vary a frequency range at a certain speed: the so-called auto-wahs. And then there’s the Talk box. That is a pedal where you control the sound of your guitar with your mouth by means of a long tube. A microphone then amplifies these sounds. Perhaps the most famous is Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” and Stevie Wonder’s “Black Man”.

Today manufacturers such as Keeley, Meris and Xotic make modern pedals. Often these are digital pedals, which means that the musical possibilities are endless. Check out the pedals on this page.
